It’s time to come out of hibernation, blow out the cobwebs and embrace the first signs of spring with a good, hearty walk!

We needed the incentive to leave the comfort of our home, and Andy Stevenson of Point2 Guides suggested this beautiful walk in and around Ludlow’s Mortimer Forest starting from Whitcliffe Common. The walk takes in peaceful forest tracks, pathways, open meadows, and old stage coaching roads. Andy and his daughter, Ali, walked this route recently and were amazed by the abundance of flowers and fauna and a fascinating tree carving.

If you’re looking for a wholesome meal or a refreshing drink after your mini hike, consider calling in at the Charlton Arms pub towards the end of the walk (see map).
