After the success of last year’s parade and the buzz it created as it promenaded through the streets, Ludlow Carnival is back this June.
The inspiration for this year’s Carnival – “Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales” – pays tribute to the Shakespeare play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which is being performed at Ludlow Castle by Flabberghast Theatre throughout the festival fortnight. The cast of Flabbergast is also getting involved with local schools and organisations, helping them build creations for the carnival and to decorate Ludlow Castle, where the play is being performed.
Carnival Parade Schedule
Meet at the Ludlow Brewery: from 3:30pm
Parade start: the parade will leave Ludlow Brewery at 4:30pm to parade through Ludlow and arrive at the Castle around 5:00pm.
Outer Bailey Celebration: the organisers have given permission to enter the Castle through the main gates and proceed to the outer bailey to celebrate for 30-40 minutes.
