Sherry-cask finished whisky has always been a beloved choice among whisky lovers, and our recent Oloroso Sherry Cask edition sold out in minutes upon its release. Now, with Cask Edition No. 5 Pedro Ximénez Sherry, we are taking our single malt Ludlow Whisky to the next level. The classic Pedro Ximénez sherry is known for its rich aromas and complex flavours of raisins, dates, dried figs, and spicy notes with hints of chocolate. This unique taste profile makes it the perfect partner for cask finishing our ‘Distiller’s Cut’ English single malt whisky.
Shaun Ward, Master Distiller, shares his excitement about this new release, stating, ‘Our PX Sherry Cask Edition is a result of our passion for fine ingredients, refined craft, and patience. We carefully handcraft our whisky using the finest English and Scottish malted barley and purified water, the Scottish malt having been gently peated. We triple-distil our spirit and age it in second-fill Speyside casks, then cask finish in a specially selected ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, creating a serious and perfectly balanced single malt. This new release represents a new style of cask finishing for our distillery. Laid down in limited quantities of only 400 bottles, it’s a highly sought-after addition to any whisky collection.’
