Easter family fun in and around Ludlow

A family break in Ludlow is a winner for history lovers with Easter egg hunts through castle ruins, treasure trails in country parks and adventure quests in historic houses. Our local venues make it fun for everyone. And, of course, Spring is the perfect time to explore the great outdoors, from mini trails for tiny ones to rough times in the woods for teens. Finally, throw a literary twist with a hunt for Narnia at Queenswood Arboretum and a bit of interactive fun with a puppet show for little gardeners at Ludlow Assembly rooms. You’ve got an ideal line-up this Easter holidays.

The Easter Bunny has visited and hidden some eggs. Find the eggs to discover the mystery word and claim your prize.

Open every day 10 am – 5 pm (last entry 4.15 pm)

The Ludlow Mystery Treasure Trail

Explore Ludlow’s rich history on this self-guided detective mystery-themed Treasure Trail. As you follow the Trail route, solve the sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features and monuments to eliminate the suspects to discover whodunnit.

This Trail starts and finishes outside the Tourist Information Centre in Castle Square, close to Ludlow Castle and is approximately 1.75 miles long. It takes around 2 hours to complete and is suitable for ages 6yrs. There’s a mobile phone text service for clue answers if you get stuck, ensuring no mystery goes unsolved.

Wednesday 5th – Sunday 16th April

Each child taking part in the Easter Trail will receive an Easter biscuit from the bakery.

Family Easter Trail with Little Grubs Kindergarten

Tuesday 4th April 

Stroll through the beautiful Oakly Park Estate as you follow the Trail from the Kindergarten HQ to a dedicated woodland site, where we’ll have some fun Easter-themed games and activities to play. Then head back to HQ for a goodie bag to take home. (Games and goodie bags are aimed at children aged 1-5 years, but older siblings are most welcome!)

Easter Adventure Quest at Stokesay Castle

You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays

Explore the grounds and gardens of this historical gem to hunt for clues and challenges and discover traditional Easter games. Track down the Easter eggs, and you’ll be rewarded with an adventurer’s certificate and a tasty chocolate treat from Love Cocoa.

The quest costs just £2, which you can pay when you arrive at the site. This is in addition to the standard ticket price.

The Grow Show from Wild Boor Ideas at Ludlow Assembly Rooms

Tuesday 4th April at 11am

A fun, interactive puppet performance with shadow puppets, glove puppets, catchy songs and a garden that grows before your very eyes.

All tickets are just £7 each for children and adults.

The Ludlow Assembly Rooms will also show the films, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (PG) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (PG)over the Easter holidays.

The Courtyard’s Narnia Trail at Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum

Saturday 1st April – Sunday 16th April

Along this trail, hear the magical characters from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe give clues to finding your way around the woods.
Each character has lost an item that needs to be found. Use the map to help you, and write the character’s name next to each item once you’ve found it.
When you’ve finished, take your sheet to the visitor centre to collect a special bookmark and be entered into a competition to win a family ticket to this year’s pantomime at The Courtyard.

Easter adventure trail at Croft Castle

Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April

Follow the trail through the gardens and grounds to find all 10 Easter-themed activity stations, with games and puzzles and remember to collect your chocolate egg at the finish.

9 am – 4 pm. Trails cost £3, including an activity sheet, paper bunny ears, a pencil and an Easter egg.Easter Egg hunt at Berrington Hall

Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April 

Step back in time and enjoy everything the Georgian gardens offer, from traditional lawn games to fascinating plants and animals. In addition, there will be 10 fun-filled activity stations with Easter-themed activities and a chocolate egg to collect. 

The Easter adventure trail will run from 10 am – 4 pm every day from April 1 – April 16. The activity sheet costs £3 and includes an activity sheet, paper bunny ears, a pencil and an Easter egg.

Kids’ Easter activities at Teme Leisure

Tuesday 4th and  Tuesday 11th April

Indoor and outdoor activities including Nerf battles, assault course, sniper training, bouncy castle, tug-of-war, football, Sports Nintendo Switch competition.School years Reception to Year 7.  Packed lunch and indoor trainers needed.

Holiday Club is available for 7 – 12-year-olds:
Weds 5th April – SOLD OUT
Tuesday 11th April – Quick Jump, Monkey Climb, Woodland Krypton, and Capture The Flag.
Friday 14th April – Zip Wire, Gladiator Challenge, Low Ropes and Pistol Shooting
Teen Day on Wednesday 12th, April is available for 11 – 16-year-olds, where you can book either High Ropes or Paintball or both.
