Summer vibes are here at last! We’ve got that holiday feeling and it’s time to get planning.

If like Claire and I, you leave everything to the last minute, you might as well scratch Cornwall and every other honeypot destination from your list. The good news is you may not have to travel too far to find the perfect getaway.

We’ve picked five glamping sites within easy reach of Ludlow which offer the full Shropshire experience: breathtaking views, camp fires, romantic woodland settings, places where you can be closer to nature, gaze at the canopy of stars, enjoy good food and get away from it all.

We are seriously tempted!

Wake up in 45 acres of Shropshire’s beautiful countryside in one of five unique woodland retreats. Included in the Daily Mirrors top ten Glamping Sites, AirBNB Superhosts, awarded a certificate of excellence from Booking.Com and recently featured on the BBC’s Escape to the Country, Woodland Escapes is second to none.

Stay in a Star Gazing Tree House and sleep beneath a canopy of stars, immersing yourself in pure luxury in the heart of the woodland. The Star Dome and Tree Dome offer the simple joys of the great outdoors; designed for nature cravers, adventure chasers, peace and quiet seekers, star gazers and memory makers. All of the glamping properties have their own private facilities and hot tubs. If you’re looking for a repeat visit to a place you can call home, then Rowan Tree Lodge with its contemporary open plan design, cosy atmosphere and private wood fired hot tub is a great value alternative.

With panoramic views of over 6 counties our estate provides the perfect habitat for the wealth of wildlife and rare flora and fauna that inhabits and grows in this tranquil place of escape. You will find this a beautiful place to unwind and relax at any time of the year.
