“Redefining Rural Cinema, Shropshire style”
Join in the fun at this three-day cultural celebration redefining ‘the rural’, by Shropshire Independent Cinema. Films to make you laugh, feel and think, events to tickle your creativity and your taste-buds at comfy screenings in historic surroundings. Our local curators have hand-picked stories about living on the land, or encountering ‘the countryside’ as people from Off. The programme ranges from traditional to trailblazing, from the hilarious culture-clash of Withnail & I to the frank and tender tale of young farmers in Holy Cow, or the Oscar-winning Flow: an animated story to touch hearts of all ages. Don’t miss free events like The Big Cheese-Off tasting competition at Wem Town Hall or Lewis Heriz’s animation workshop accompanying Kes at Ludlow.
The Rural Remix is created by Shropshire Independent Cinema and supported by Film Hub Midlands via the Film Audience Network, with support from the BFI using funds from the National Lottery.
