With five stages featuring a packed schedule of demos, talks and tastings over three days from 13-15 September, there’s plenty to look forward to at Ludlow Food Festival this year. Here are a few of our foodie celebrities set to appear.
We’re super excited to welcome superstar chef, Gareth Ward! The homepage of Gareth’s Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms website pretty much sums up what you can expect from one of the UK’s most creative culinary geniuses — ‘ingredient led, flavour driven, fat fuelled, meat obsessed’.
Based near Machynlleth, Gareth dry ages all his meats, sometimes for up to 300 days and then marries them with preserved seasonal ingredients and Japanese inspired sauces that will transport you foodie heaven! Whoever thought Japan and Wales be so magically united?
Great British Bake-Off Line up
Expect a number of popular Great British Bake Off (GBBO) faces to pop up throughout the weekend including: 2016’s winner Candice Brown, who will appear on the Wots Cooking Stage on Friday at 1.30pm. Since her GBBO victory, she has become a regular columnist for The Sunday Times. She has baked on This Morning and Christmas Kitchen, appeared as a panellist on Loose Women, and taken part in ITV's Dancing on Ice.
On Saturday you can check out 2012’s winner, John Whaite, who frequently writes for the Telegraph. He is resident chef on ITV's Lorraine and a co-host on the hit daytime show, Chopping Block. There’s also festival favourite and gluten free baker, Howard Middleton. Plus we welcome back Sandy Docherty following the success of ‘Bake in Time’ last year. We’re all hoping to see some spectacular showstoppers as no big birthday celebration is complete without cake!
