Kay Fletcher, a qualified counsellor, who has her private practice in Leintwardine near Ludlow, has spent lockdown writing, editing and organising Baby Dreamer And His Clever Friends, a picture book for children, now available from bookshops and from her website.
Kay says “Lockdown seemed the ideal time to write the book, the first part of the Baby Dreamer series. I’ve had great support from friends, family, my illustrator and from Little Steps Publishing. I am so happy and proud of the results. It’s been a tough time for all of us trying to get through Covid and the ‘new normal’. Writing has proved cathartic and I have felt constantly inspired”.
Part of that inspiration, Kay explains, was wanting stories like Baby Dreamer to bring families together. She hopes sharing stories will instil a love of listening to each other and learning from each other.
About Kay
Kay has been a professionally qualified counsellor since 2011, working with people of all ages including teenagers and tinies — anyone in fact who needs to be heard. Baby Dreamer and his Clever Friends is her first book and the start of a series emphasising the joy found in listening to and learning from each other and the special connection we have with animals and in all of our friendships.
Look out for her second book in the series, Baby Dreamer and The Christmas Decoration. For older readers, her book Loving Jamie is also out soon and explores other meaningful aspects of life and its challenges in a reflective story.
Kay is a wife and mother and lives with her family, which includes a devoted black labrador, on the Welsh borders. She loves to receive your comments about her books and can be contacted on her website.
