Hello, my name is Lucy Shier. I am the founder of Bee Biotic a small Shropshire-based business run from my little “Bee Lab” in Farlow near Ludlow. A passion for the environment and all things “bee related” led to me take up beekeeping four years ago and follow a long-held dream. I have turned my hobby into a business handcrafting natural, healthy and eco-friendly products from my own beehives.
This includes my “Bee-Fresh” Beeswax Food Wraps the eco-friendly alternative to cling wrap, naturally antibacterial, sustainable and compostable and reusable for at least a year. I recently launched my new naturally healing, chemical free, Beeswax and Honey Skincare range using beeswax and honey from my own hives and carefully sourced organic natural oils & butters. I also harvest and sell wild flower pasture “Shropshire Hills Honey” made by my own busy bees.
My products are made to be eco-friendly, kind to people and the environment using only natural, sustainably sourced and safe ingredients. All my packaging is reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable helping people to help protect our precious environment by reducing use of plastics and chemicals.
I also offer honeybee swarm collection/advice services and educational talks for adults and children promoting awareness about the importance of bees and beekeeping. I am a regular trader on the “Local to Ludlow” and “Ludlow Town” markets , Cleobury Mortimer Farmers Market and countryside and charity events across Shropshire.
If you are suffering from dry hands due to the extra hand washing, try my handmade naturally moisturising and antibacterial “Bee Soapy” Beeswax & Honey soaps. These are available as bars in eco-friendly Kraft gift boxes or as “Bee Soapy On The Go” single-use soap shards in a handy travel tin; follow with my “Busy Bees” moisturising, soothing and protective hand balm.
