Ed and Helen Povey moved their business Place in Print, which specialises in location-related artwork, to the Ludlow area from London. Ed’s family is from the area and they were excited to embrace a new lifestyle with their young daughter, Evvie.

The couple are in the process of renovating a rural home in Munslow, which also accommodates their business. As far as the couple are concerned nothing can beat this county for beauty. Place in Print has a very wide selection of quirky illustrations from all over Great Britain including from Shropshire and surrounding areas.

For example, ‘A Walk Around Ludlow’ is a wonderfully evocative illustrated map, printed using their in-house Giclée printer (Giclée is a fine art printing process which combines pigment inks with archival paper to create bright prints which don’t fade).

There is also a map featuring the contours of Ludlow which is fascinating, and a very novel Shropshire Typographic Parish Map which uses parish names to make up the shape; well worth a look even if only to marvel at the time it must have taken!

The couple were recently commissioned by the new shop at St Laurence’s to produce a new logo for use on bags, tea towels, prints etc. Although the shop opening has been delayed due to Covid-19, you can see the image on their Instagram profile.

You can buy all their other ‘place’ images on their website. Prints are available either framed or unframed. “A Walk Around Ludlow” is also available in Ludlow at The Silver Pear.
